Seismic Characterization and Reservoir Illumination

In addition to seismic interpretation using industry-standard workstation software, the ARC Group is pleased to offer state-of-the-art reservoir illumination technology through our in-house STRATSLICE software.

Using conventional sequence stratigraphic concepts to identify geologically significant bounding surfaces together with our data reprocessing algorithms, STRATSLICE transforms seismic data into true geological images of the depositional systems present in your block, reservoir, or field. These seismic-sedimentological maps facilitate high confidence targeting of infill and exploration wells. Options within STRATSLICE allow the user to visualize the seismic volume in geologic time and to transform amplitude information into reservoir attributes.

STRATSLICE technology has been successfully applied in over 70 wildcat exploration and reservoir characterization projects. STRATSLICE is available for licencing or, alternatively, The ARC Group will process your interpreted data volume into a STRATSLICE cube. Using animation technology, the geological history of your exploration block, field or lease is readily unraveled. STRATSLICE, when integrated within full-scale reservoir characterization studies, provides the foundation for a highly spatially accurate depiction of reservoir attributes, including thickness, porosity distribution, saturations and ultimately, the residency of the oil and gas remaining in the reservoir system. These high resolution, seismic-sedimentologically derived maps are the basis for defining and deploying advanced recovery operations in wildcat exploration areas to mature fields.
